And if you turn around, the mountains behind the house await you in their full height and beauty – ocean on one side, mountains on the other: it is precisely this combination that makes the terrace a place for unforgettable moments.

Surrounding the house, a dreamlike garden awaits you – a green, blooming sanctuary, perfect for your morning coffee, a book in the afternoon, or a glass of wine at sunset.

Villa Sunset offers generous space for up to 6 people:

• 1 bright, spacious living room with an open kitchen area as the heart of the home where everyone gathers
• 3 comfortable bedrooms for restful nights, including a suite with its own private bathroom. All bedrooms feature a direct or partial ocean view
• 3 modern bathrooms
• 1 study or children's playroom

Outside, a private barbecue house invites you to enjoy social evenings under the open sky, while a parking space and a garage ensure a relaxed arrival and departure.

Body & Soul: The Fitness Room with a View

A special feature of Villa Sunset: The garage has been lovingly transformed by us into a small but excellent fitness room with a view of the mountains. For us, vacation means not only unwinding but also keeping the body in motion – whether with a morning workout before breakfast or a training session with a mountain view after a day full of discoveries.

The high-quality equipment includes a bicycle ergometer, a rowing machine, a multi-gym station for bench pressing, parallel bars for triceps and arm exercises, various weights, as well as elastic training bands. Recovery and activity, exactly as you need it.

We, Roland and Alina, did not design Villa Sunset as a faceless holiday accommodation, but as a true home – and exactly this feeling is what we want to pass on to our guests. Important notes for your stay

Children Policy:

Children under 3 years of age stay free of charge. They do not need to be entered in the "Children" field during the accommodation search on the website, but must be registered by name in the subsequent check-in form for regulatory purposes. For children aged 3 and older, the regular child surcharge per night applies and they must be included in the "Children" field at the time of booking.

Baby Cot & High Chair:
If you require a baby cot or a high chair, you can easily select them as an extra option in the next step of the booking process.

Car Rental:

Due to the idyllic location of our villa in the southwest of Madeira, we highly recommend booking a rental car. A private parking space is available directly at the house.

Long-term Stays:

Our villa is equipped with fast fiber-optic Wi-Fi and is ideal for digital nomads and winter long-term travelers.

House Rules:

This is a non-smoking property (smoking is permitted on the terrace). Parties are not allowed. Pets are generally not permitted in our villa. An exception applies exclusively to certified service animals upon prior consultation with us. For further house rules, please look into the house rules section.

Amenities

To ensure you can enjoy your holiday at Madeira Sunset from the very first minute, we have summarized the most important mobility tips for you:

• Rental Car (Highly Recommended): To get from the airport (FNC) to our villa in Paúl do Mar and to explore the island flexibly, we strongly recommend booking a rental car. The drive from the airport via the well-maintained highway takes about 40 to 50 minutes. A private, secure parking space is available at the villa free of charge.
• Taxis & Airport Transfers: If you prefer not to drive on your arrival day, taxis are always available at the airport. Alternatively, there are private transfer services that will bring you straight to our doorstep. Just let us know in advance if you need help arranging a reliable driver.
• Public Buses: Paúl do Mar is connected to the public bus network operated by Rodoeste. However, buses only run a few times a day, and the journey to the capital city of Funchal takes significantly longer than by car. For day trips to the famous Levada walks or for grocery shopping, buses are quite limited.
• On Foot Locally: Once you arrive at the villa, you won't need a car within the village itself. The picturesque fishing harbor, the charming seafront promenade, local fish restaurants, and cozy bars are all within easy walking distance.

Our Villa Sunset is located in a wonderfully idyllic and quiet spot in the picturesque fishing village of Paúl do Mar. Looking out from the villa, you are completely surrounded by lush green banana plantations to the left and behind the house, with Madeira's majestic cliffs rising up in the background. To the right, there is only one single neighboring house.

The ocean is almost right at your doorstep – just 80 meters away in a straight line! Between the villa and the Atlantic, there are three rows of charming local houses. Depending on which part of the villa you are in, you will catch beautiful, partial views of the glittering sea and hear the soothing sound of the waves.

The local community is truly one of a kind and incredibly welcoming. Don't be surprised if you open the front door in the morning to find fresh bananas, ripe papayas, or avocados left on the doorstep as a little gift. The neighbors love to share their harvest and, in return, appreciate the peaceful and respectful atmosphere created by the residents of the house.
